Local Weather on My Blog

i noticed a while back that James Cross had a Weather Channel box on his blog with local weather info. he took it off… but casey must have taken notice too because he’s got a weather box too… i decided to add one myself, however i went with the weatherunderground.com box; the weather channel ones just didn’t look good on my dark blog.

  1. Yeah… I really wanted a good weather box but the one I had d/l from weather channel just didn’t do it for me. Its funny that you posted this, cuz just yesterday I sent an email to Benny about a project I wanted to do with him that pulled in an XML/RSS feed and basically stripped what we needed and then we would have our own images for the weather. Guess who would do the images? haha

Anyhow… we have just started talkin bout it – so who knows.

I had looked at weather underground (which is a cluttered mess if I may add), and couldn’t seem to find the boxes… until today. Looks alot better than the crap I had up.

  2. Looks good…haha…James and I are going to build something like this as soon as I get a chance to talk to him about it. I want to add weather to my site as well but I’m going to wait until James and I finish our own.

  3. very nice… can’t wait to see what u guys come up with!

agreed wunderground’s site is extremely cluttered! took me a bit to find how to get the box too. i think they are selling ad space to anybody with a buck…

  4. so you gonna tell us about ftp commands? or you have nothing to report? heh… tried to sneak it in the list… like I wouldn’t notice.

  5. haha… nah it’s not really done yet… i just figured i’d get the links in place. i slapped it together real quick and need to finish it up whenever i get the time??

  6. The ftp commands will be useful. Sometimes it’s hard to find good reference materials, now I know where to go.

I’ve been planning to post links, to all my favorite reference materials, on my website…kind-of like a portal to all the good stuff.

I’m anxious to start on the weather feed parser with James.
