March Madness is here

march… what a month… st. patricks day… spring break… and basketball! the weather starts to turn from the cold dreary days and the sun begins to stay out a little later. i love it! not as much as june, but it’s a great turn of seasons. the weather is nice down here in austin with 100% chance of getting better 😀

as for basketball… march madness is all about college basketball. if you’re looking to attend a basketball tourney check out >> http://www.ticketcity.com/NCAA-Tournament-tickets.html

as for st pattys and spring break… we’ll just have to see what trouble we can get into and stay out of!

Spurs vs Cavs

update 6/4/2007: it looks like these two will battle it out in the NBA Finals

i went to the Spurs vs Cavs game last friday… it was lotsa fun… even though my close-to-home team the Spurs lost. the seats were great, behind the basket (endcourt) 22 rows up. i didnt know if i’d like them, because i usually like being mid court (doesnt everybody?).. but i gotta say we could see the action on the other side just fine.. and the perspective when the action is coming at you is really really cool.

lebron james… sheesh this guy is awesome… he just takes over on the court.

if you havent been to an NBA game and dig basketball at all… you gotta go at least once… its a blast!

i recommend >> Spurs Tickets or Mavericks Tickets (for my nearby family and friends) for everybody else >> NBA Tickets

go Mavs!!

Texas Longhorns vs Ohio State Buckeyes

here is my belated post of the #2 Texas vs #1 Ohio State game…

thank goodness i didn’t pay what some people were for tickets to this ‘college game of the year’ where the number 1 and 2 ranked teams battled it out. hopes were high for the tons of Texas Longhorns football fans (after winning the national championship last year.. in the game of the century!) but all in all Ohio State outplayed my horns. but don’t count the horns out… Colt McCoy isn’t polished just yet, but the teams is strong and deep and the rest of this year should show the longhorns finishing strong.

i can say that i attended the largest football game in the state of texas! not just college football… but of all football… 89,422 people attended (thats a crowd).

i heard that 60,000 people came from Ohio for the weekend… and i did see a lot of red and silver… but i have to say they were drowned out pretty solid by a lot more burnt orange.

for the rest of the season let’s hook’em!!

Fantasy Football 2006

football season is just around the corner… and along with the few select athletes talented enough to be labeled as “pros” and those good enough and smart enough to play college football… i’ll be watching them with the love of a fan and the desire to win big… at fantasy football.

fantasy football is as close to the pros i’ll ever get (besides the christmas day game in Irving this year for the Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles… featuring Terrell Owens)… and i’m sure a few games between now and then (i’m hoping to get some Redskins vs Cowboys tickets!)

it’s fun… being a team owner you have to make long and short term decisions that can ultimately make u a winner or a loser… kinda (very slightly) like being a real team owner. it’s like chess, poker, and horse racing all combined. if that doesn’t sound like fun to you… well then u r probably better off not dabbling… otherwise u should look into joining a league.

Roger Clemens Hooks’em for the Round Rock Express

Roger Clemens recovered from a shaky 1st inning where he started uneasy… with the record breaking crowd that showed up at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock to see the baseball superstar.

btw, Clemens won a College World Series with the Texas Longhorns in 1983… and yeah he’s had a lot of success in Major League Baseball (Google him for more).

the neatest thing about seeing him play for The Express was the intimate size of the field… and the huge respect the crowd had for him (Astros fans, Longhorn fans, and MLB superstar fans). it was worth every bit of the $10 per ticket; which btw were selling for $100+ online.

Thanks Roger… Thanks Nolan… Thanks Houston Astros… Thanks Dell… Thanks Round Rock!!

World Cup Tickets

The World Cup is on! actually it’s been on for several days, but I just thought I’d remind you :D. We’re busy here at work, TicketCity.com, selling World Cup Tickets. I never realized how big the event is. Perhaps soccer is becoming more mainstream… nah I’m probably just out of touch. I would bet Tim keeps up with the World Cup to some degree. I guess I just have to fall back on rooting for my home team USA!! Anyhow, you might try to catch a game or 2… who knows you might get hooked like so many other fans throughout the World!

Roger Clemens will Pitch for the Round Rock Express

The Rocket (Roger Clemens) will be starting pitcher on June 16th 2006 at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock Texas for the Round Rock Express…Triple A Affiliate of the Houston Astros!

I will be there 😀 too!!

It’s probably going to be the most exciting game in Express history. I hope Nolan Ryan makes an appearance too!

I’ll try to snap some pictures to share…

Supercross Dallas 2006

last weekend i went to the Supercross in Dallas (Texas Stadium) and had a blast! the races weren’t as competitive as they have been in past years. in the 250cc class Carmichael, Stewart & Reed were WAAAAAY better than the rest in the field. the main event race was pretty cool because Carmichael and Stewart were leading the pack and fighting each other hard when Carmichael lost it on the whoop section (knocking him back to the near last of the pack). Stewart then had a big lead on Reed and looked like he was gonna coast in winner with the last 10 laps to go… BUT he flew off the track after hitting a jump wrong on the edge. That put him back 6-7 places…. but he fought back to 2nd like it was nothing. Reed who started the race looking comfortable with settling for 3rd stayed fast enough to hold the lead until the end. i recorded some video with my recently acquired Cannon ZR 600 DV Camcorder (which should come in handy for capturing some ‘interesting’ moments at NU2 this summer). when i get some time i’ll convert some footage and upload it… in the meantime you’re just going to have to take my word that it was awesome.
