if u haven’t heard of Israel Kamakawiwo’ole aka IZ, and u wanna feel as close to Hawaii as you can possibly feel without being there then u need to check out his tunes. makes me daydream of the beautiful islands and weather… just makes me wanna pack my bags and be there already.

    Did you hear? I’m no longer with OT?! Yup, i bounced today. Starting a new gig on the 7th with Pioneer Natural Resources… GIS Tech.. I imagine with your surveying history, you know all about what I’ll be doing.. anyhoo, great move for me, BIG time pay raise/benefits.

  4. tim, glad to hear from ya. yeah i moved into the blogging era. i think it will be a great way to keep in touch with distant friends. so far it’s definetly worth the effort in that arena.

    gis tech, awesome job. yeah i know a lil sumpin sumpin… mapinfo, arcinfo, autocad. fun stuff! i still got topo rasters on CD for most of Texas. i hope u get to work with aerials and satellite imagery… that stuff rocks… i’ve actually wondered if google’s recently acquired keyhole is as good as it sounds for commercial uses such as the ones u might be involved in… you’ll have to let me know.

    ps your blog has probably been the single most motivating source of me starting mine up. i popped in from time to time, just to see what might be going on. u actually update! in fact i posted a comment on your dad’s truck getting jacked up by the drunk driver. for anyone who hasn’t seen the pics… they’re freakin crazy!

  5. his blog inspired me too. hey i don’t mean to hijack your thread – but check out this page, I got a custom rss feed with iTunes that gives the top 5,10,25,50 or 100 (whichever I want) and blam… I spit em out. How freakin’ easy. why don’t they just write out checks.

    if you have itunes, it is supposed to just go tot he page I suppose, but you have to have itunes… have to figure something out to make it show an error if you don’t have it installed. but anyhow – pretty cool, just put my wrapper around the rss, and the rest is history.

    here is the link: you know any decent affiliate with rss, I think it would be simple to throw up a site full of rss feeds and see what it would do. I know alot of us here could chip in and see what it could do, by doing absolutely nothing. I know iTunes for one is good, perhaps allposters i know I can get an xml feed.

    tryin’ to bounce this off as many people as possible. I think its worth the small amount of effort.
