pandora.com is an awesome service…
this open source app >> Pandora’s Jar allows users to time-shift songs… some would call it a Pandora Ripper… as it does allow you to save the MP3, tag it using Last.fm and listen to it at a later time. it’s like a DVR (you know Tivo for Television?) except it’s for audio… so i guess it’s a DAR (Digital Audio Recorder) specifically for Pandora.com’s broadcasts.
just thought i’d point it out.
i finally installed some really great freeware… great for anybody who uses Microsoft SQL Server’s Query Analyzer. the freeware is called SQLPrompt and can be downloaded here! you can also download the software from the creators at http://www.red-gate.com/products/SQL_Prompt/ as well as get more info from them too. (i posted the download from my site, because i think i read somewhere that it’s offered free for a limited time)
auto-complete your queries… while getting snapshot views of tables and stored procedures as you form them up!! it’s just tooooooo goooood… but it’s true!
this is post is for my fellow web coders… i tested the Beta 2 of the IE Developer Toolbar and it’s nice. i’m pretty sure firefox has had this stuff for a while… but considering that IE still dominates the browser world (in terms of end-users) it’s nice to have these slick features available for a blue collar type (m$ developer) such as myself.
i thought at first the toolbar wouldn’t play nice with the Google toolbar… but i just needed to disable the Google toolbar and then re-enable it (not an uncommon thing when loading up multiple toolbars in IE (i know i know you firefox cronies are thinking ‘see IE sux’ haha… o well). it works nice so check it out dev’s.

Google invited me to setup a cheesy little website on their beta free web hosting “PageCreator” platform. so i threw together a super simple site with a brief QnA (questions I thought of when i first heard about G Hosting).

lately at work i’ve been doing a lot of editing on my Windows HOSTS file. i decided i needed a shortcut right to my hosts file on the various machines i use. i realized with just a little extra effort i could create a small hosts file editor with desktop shortcut and/or quick launch access for anyone else who might need the same thing.
btw, if you don’t know what a hosts file is or how to use it then the freeware is of no use to you.

the company i’m working for is looking to hook up with talented graphic designers located in major cities within Texas. if you’re a talented graphic designer but not in Texas we’d still be interested in meeting you and seeing your portfolio.
however, our idea is to focus our website design, website hosting, search engine optimization, email marketing and software programming business to our immediate surroundings. sure we currently have clients all over the world (literally international) and with technology there’s not necessarily a huge advantage in being physically close to our clients… but we’d like to. we like the idea of being able to visit with our clients face to face in the time it takes for a short drive or very short flight.

well i built this real basic site a few weeks back that lists all the raw ftp commands available. the site isn’t really finished… whenever i get a few minutes i need to go back and finish it up. however, i noticed that i’m getting a lil traffic from yet another #1 ranking on the MSN search engine for the keywords ‘ftp commands’ so i figured others already know about it… why not pronounce it for everyone who might not have noticed my link on the right hand side (james caught it quick).
so i hope u can find it another useful resource… i like little helpful sites like that.
