UCLA versus Florida Basketball Championship Tonight

Spring has begun… baseball is in the air but first college basketball must come to a close. tonight the UCLA Bruins battle the Florida Gators to wrap up another season of NCAA Basketball. as a Texas Longhorns fan i had hoped UT would’ve made it past the Elite Eight but it just wasn’t their year (again). George Mason had a surprising and fun run… but no cinderella story to be told there. believe it or not you can still purchase tickets for tonights game at TicketCity.com prices range from $110 to $19000+ >> Final Four Tickets

being unbiased i’ll say good luck to those pulling for the Bruins and good luck for those pulling for the Gators!

Terrell Owens is a Dallas Cowboy

nuff said…

well… ok i’ll throw my 2 cents in.

i’m happy about it. i think TO is THE best receiver in the NFL. parcells likes to protect the QB and Bledsoe will now have a killer to throw the ball to. the Cowboys were well rounded but just lacking an “attack”… with TO the pieces fit.

some Dallas fans will be upset… as were many (myself included) back in the day when the ‘boys paid (imho) too much for Neon Deion… this time around we’re getting JJ’s moneys worth!!

so now… lets go win a SuperBowl!!

Winter Olympics Tickets – Torino 2006

2006 Torino Winter Olympics Tickets have been and are on sale now at TicketCity.com… we’ve got tickets to a lot of really cool events. i know not many of us can just up and head off to Torino Italy for a few days to check out some snow sports… but who knows, maybe you are one of the lucky ones!

if i could go i know the events i would check out would be: Half Pipe Snowboarding, Ski Jumping & Ice Hockey (go USA!)

anyhow… for as much as i don’t care for cold weather i do enjoy watching the Winter Olympics… just 2 more days until opening ceremony!

Texas Longhorns are National Champions

Deep in the heart of Texas, Austin Texas to be precise, the celebration has just begun! It seems that after all the hype and blabbing on about how the USC Trojans were perhaps the best college football team of all time the battle ended with the Texas Longhorns doing what no other team has done in 34 games against USC… BEAT THEM.

SUCK ON IT TROJAN FANS!!!!!!!!!!!

and btw, Vince Young mighta shoulda perhaps maybe…. ABSOLUTELY DESERVED THE HEISMAN??!!?? i’m not saying Bush isn’t a star… but cough cough… choke choke. and VY… well nothing but shining brilliance.

ok enough for tonight… i still gotta work in a few hours and need some sleep, but i wanted to send a shout out to all those punk trojan fans… and to those who bleed burnt orange

Texas Football

i’m a football fan, have been since i was a little kid. i loved playing when i was younger. growing up in Ft. Worth Texas my early dreams were to play football for the Texas Longhorns and then on to the Dallas Cowboys. i’m sure this is and was the dream of many youngsters. unfortunately i broke my leg, dislocated my ankle and tore several tendons in my ankle during an 8th grade football game (i was running back an interception). that ruined my dreams… sniffle sniffle… that’s life. however, i have to say it’s a happy weekend for me when the Longhorns and the Cowboys both put up a victory as they did this weekend!!

“How bout them Cowboys!” and “Hook’em Horns!”

o by the way… sorry but i’m not a Houston Texans fan. some of my friends are… but i grew up disliking the Oilers (even with much respect for Warren Moon) we’ll see how long the city of Houston embraces a losing team, that they have with the Texans, as i recall they never did like the constant losing the Oilers served up for lunch every week…. and so ‘they loaded up the truck and moved to Tennessee’ hehe.

Texas football… from high school to college to the pros… one thing is for sure most Texans (not the team) love football… me included.

Texas Longhorn Football Game

On Saturday I went to the Texas Longhorn football game here in Austin. I was very happy when my boss called me on Friday afternoon and told me that he was a season ticket holder and had an extra seat available for the game and wanted to know if I was interested in going with him. So on Saturday we headed out to the stadium and watched a brutal game were Texas scored 60 points compared to Louisiana-Lafayette’s 3 points. There wasn’t much competition obviously but I’d much rather sit through a blowout where my team is winning then to see a game where they lose. We had a lot of fun and everybody at the stadium was really into it as you would expect of a college football game. My boss has some pretty good seats. Longhorns played so good that we actually got to see fourth string and fifth string running backs getting some playing time as well as the second and third string quarterbacks. It looks like Vince Young and the Texas passing game should be pretty pretty good this year and I have to say I was really impressed with all of the running backs Texas has. I think their running game is gonna be pretty solid for the next couple of years. I was especially impressed by Jamaal Charles who set a UT freshman debut record with 135 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. After the game I saw on television that Jamaal Charles was actually more than just your typical better than average freshmen running back but he actually holds some national records for track and field. An announcer on TV said that Charles is an Olympic quality runner, which after the game I would have to say that I could easily agree with those statements. So that was pretty much the highlight of my weekends it was a blast and I hope to see many more longhorn games in Austin. –Hook ‘Em Horns

p.s. I know my Grandfater (A HUGE TCU FAN) was as happy as I and almost all the other Longhorn fans to see the Horn Frogs beat the Sooners!!!

Pistons and Spurs Game 7 (pre-game thoughts)

anybody else looking forward to game 7 tomorrow? i am. i mean hey if i had it my way the Mav’s would be there and Nash would still be in Dallas too! but i think the Pistons and Spurs are really two awesome teams with great stars and role players. not any seriously bad egos on either side.

i owe my bro for betting the pistons to win game 5… i thought after game 4 they had the spurs pegged…. guess not. but game 6 was good enough to take it to the make it or break it climax of game 7.

i’m here in Round Rock, just North of Austin and not very far from San Antonio. that makes for a lot of local spurs fans. like i said my first fanship goes to Dallas… grew up in that area and always was and always will be a Dallas fan. however, most would think because of my Texas upbringing i’d fall right back to rooting for the spurs. well…. i guess i’m not rooting for either team. i’m excited to see who comes out on top but thats about it. however, i’ve been saying and i guess i gotta stick with it… the PISTONS are gonna win.

if i’m wrong… i’m wrong… if i’m right u owe me a million bucks!

anyhow… enjoy the game and as always the best team will win.

Round Rock Express AAA Baseball Game

well i know my story of having a great time at a Round Rock Express AAA baseball game pales in comparison to James’ just getting back from HAWAII… but i did want to mention it. i went with my cousin and it was really cool. the stadium has got to be one of the nicest AAA stadiums in existence… the Dell Diamond. what’s cool is Nolan Ryan owns the franchise.

it was a great game to start… 3 up 3 down then to homers by the Express in the first inning… but umm… downhill from there. but it was a lot of fun… good food and some surprising things too (hot tub & pool, sand volleyball court, rock climbing… tons of kids playgrounds… all INSIDE the stadium… crazy!)

just thought i’d mention it… it was cool… first of hopefully several games i’ll attend this summer!
